    August

Planning a trip in August, what can I expect to catch from pier? What baits to use? Where can I get a good Pier net?

Spanish, kings, blues, reds, specks, white trout, ground mullet, jacks
Baits would depend on targeted species
Check J&M Tackle for pier net

Fishing in August can be spotty since the water temperatures are the hottest then and in September, but it can also be pretty good. I've done well with bluefish then and have seen lots of spadefish landed. The mackerel tend to move to cooler water then, but there are still some around.

This is not to discourage you---I'll still be fishing then, me.

The graph in this thread should help...

Also, posting your inquiry in the "Q&A - Gulf State Park Pier Fishing Questions" forum should elicit faster/more response ;-)
But the other guys pretty well covered it fer ya already!
