I just got a Mitchell 302 that looks to be in great shape. Could anyone help with a suggestion of a blank reel seat and guides. Throwing cigs and lys. Thanks

Coach - keep an eye on fleabay - there have been some quality vintage rods on there lately. If you plan to rebuild - it really opens up your possibilities. I picked up 2 Bobb Rudd Reeder Rods this week for a song. One is ready to go, and the other will just need to be re-gripped with a new seat. I kicked myself for missing some nice vintage fenwick' so for under $30, but patience pays off. Wright McGill salt spinners are dirt cheap!
That 302 deserves some vintage glass!
I've been thinking about a vintage rod. But like you say it's better to make you own. I like that. Maybe a new blank would serve it well. The reel looks new
Wasn't this reel frequently paired with a Garcia Conolon rod back in the day? Does anyone have any particular memories of how that pairing worked out? I know that the Conolons are real "buggie whips".
The reason I ask is that I've got a Conolon, brand new in it's original plastic sleeve, made in Spain. I have been casually looking for the right Mitchell to pair with it for several years. I kind of forgot about it again until this thread popped up.
