Looking to get some opinions on aluminium pliers . Most of the reviews I've read mention cutting mono and braid but not wire leaders . Looking to purchase 7" to 71/2 " with side cutter . .Any suggestions appreciated.

Not much input but a buddy bought some cheap "cool" looking ones a while back and they were so soft the handles bent while cutting line...so just be sure u get a quality set. That's all the input that I have
Don't buy the browning brand from bass pro. Got a set last year and was not too impressed. They were great for cutting all mono, braid, and small diameter wire (< 40#) but they got hard to open and close after a month. tried everything to loosen them up with no avail. I just got a set of p-lines about 2 months ago and have been impressed so far. Not sure on the long term. They will cut mono and braid well but take a little extra effort on the wire compared to the browning set. Might be the placement of the cutter being outside the jaws as opposed to inside on the brownings. The p-lines are also a lot lighter than the brownings.
There is my two cents on the types I have used. Good luck in making a decision.
I got a set of gsx pliers at gander mountain,on second season no complaints. don't pay 39.99 for them they run them on special for 19.99 all the time.
pliers | Gander Mountain
I got a new pair from a Gander Mountain closing out there fishing area(going to ALL guns) but haven't been able to use them YET....I got a pair of regular needle nose pliers from J&M that have worked real good the last few trips and have held up to the salt conditions too....I think they were 12.99....with NO sheath though....not sure what if anything they are coated with, but NO evidence of any rust yet and cut everything good....mono,braid,and wire
Thanks for all of the input . Took your suggestions and ordered the gsx pliers from Gander Mt . of sale for $19.99 free ship to store .
I like the ones I find laying on the deck/abandoned and in the parking lot! They all seem to cut mono and wire just fine.
Braid? I have a sharp knife for that!
Yup. Have a very nice pair of Calcutta nippers I found.
Picked these up at The Rod Room. Nice looking and lightweight for only $25, can't beat that. Guess I'll see how well they hold up.
