Thread: 9500SS Stainless Sprung Double Dogs & 12 Tooth Ratchet

Just did this mod using parts I acquired on alantani.com.

Sprung stainless Double Dogs & stainless 12 tooth ratchet.





I used an original dog as a limiter for the bottom dog.
The dogs engage simultaneously, and I can choose to engage either top, bottom or both.
It is pretty noisy with both dogs engaged, clickclickclickclickclickclick!

I found this mod here, Penn 9500SS - rebuild, handle, drag and 12-tooth ratchet upgrade
And they found it here, third section down, Hawaii jigging

that's probably what one of my 6500ss is needing on the dog....it only seems to engage at 1 point now, so I just switched it out with the spare one and never got into it after words....was going to drop it off at J&M this trip and have a expert look at it and fix it....love that reel

Yep, the guys at J&M can likely have it running again in short order if they've the part(s).
I love my Spinfishers, my favorite is my 7500ss.

Yep, good guys with good ideas, great prices and a lot of helpfulness.
Also, only people I know who ship COD with a SASE.

Stopped by BP and had Pier#r spool this for me, 300yrds of 50# Sufix 832, topped with approx 150yrds of 50# Trilene Big Game.
Can't wait to try it out jigging some Amberjacks or pulling a nice Blacktip over the bar.
