    2 Recent Build

Built these for a guy in MO for smallmouth. He provided the materials so I'm not sure what the blanks are. Not my usual way of doing builds but money is money.

1st is a black and silver wrap with a diamond inlay under the underwrap. Custom grips.

Next is a blue, silver and white marble with blue silver and white wrap over. Not ideal cork color but it's what he wanted.

that is nice, but I have to ask...... does it serve a purpose for extra strength or just for looks?? I am wondering now before I finish a couple rode if I should add more like that....functional is all I need for the most part....I am just exploring this for the first time after last fall and have a couple recent finds that needed some TLC

Bill these are all just for looks. But I'm sure the extra coats of epoxy wouldnt hurt if hit against a rail or something like that. The butt wrap on the black/silver get a layer of thread then epoxy, dry, sand or cut away any imperfections. Then the thread decorative thread wrap followed by 3 coats of epoxy with sanding and leveling between each coat. So like I said, the extra epoxy couldnt hurt against a hard slam or something along those lines

Very nice job on the butt wrap, did you marble the rod blank or the under wrap on the second one? Very cool!!

The marbling was directly on the blank. Base layer was blue , let it dry for 45mins to an hr the add the others
