    Vacuum Food Sealer

    ......SOLD......
If you really want to preserve your catch, I recommend investing in a vacuum sealer. I've kept my filets fresh frozen for 2 years and taste like they were caught today.
I have several models of most sought after brand of lightly used Rival Food Saver sealers. From $28 - $85 depending on model and options. You wont be dissapointed with freezer burn ever again. Msg me for photos and oltions.

I will attest. I bought one “used” from Todd a while ago and it looks and works like new. The space you save in the freezer is incredible, and yes, the fish do keep well.
One tip is to not store the vacuum sealer with the cover in the clamped position. It compresses the seals and makes them less effective. And you can buy huge rolls of the bag material on amazon for cheap. I use it for everything.

I have back ups for my back ups.
around 10 total including a couple original Foodsavers made in Italy.

The 50'x 11" rolls from sleazebay are the way to go. Cut oversize and wash and reuse.

Yes, good tip on oversized and reuse. I do that,..and also what i do with smaller portions is seal one end. Cut a medium bag, then turn it 90 degrees and seal the center. Then you can fill both sides and seal the top. You’ve created two small portions with one bag. I do that with dried bananas because otherwise the boy will eat a whole bag at once, haha. (sorry for the Martha Stewart takeover of your thread Todd,… ; )

What you got left Todd. With all the shit going on in this world, even more so in our country, I’m taking prepping more serious and could use a backup unit.

    John,
Several models available. Basic works ok but not a lot of extra features. Next up from there would be unit with built in bag cutter and works fine. Up from there is one with built in bag cutter and stores roll of bags internally. Finally models that have several different vacuum options for soft or moist foods including cutter and bag storage. $28-$85 depending on model. They all do a good job vacuum sealing.
