Thread: Trade or Sell 36" pier net. Need smaller one for travel

I bought a large pier net at J&M a yr or so ago, only been wet one time. It's too big for a traveling man like me.

would prefer to trade for same quality smaller diameter, but will sell for $30.

I'll be down for 2 weeks, can meet at the pier or other.

Me thinks RamZ sold it.

I did indeed Fishingtime. The net is gone. I will be in the market for a smaller one come October!

I have seen a few nets on the pier that the hoop ring is made of a flexible but strong material that can be collapsed into a much smaller ring for stowing. I found Frabill Popnet but don't believe they are available any more. Maybe someone on the forum has a source for them. Brunson or maybe J&M can order it for you.

Dipping at Brunson's is a must for me.....it made such a big difference in mine.....I like the smallest net opening .....I think mine is 1in bought at Brunson a few years back but it loved hooks.....the dipping helped that not to happen , I added a ring and aluminum expanddd metal in the bottom that fish can't bite through.....Idea came from the one pier#r had.....

The idea of a ring and expanded metal sounds pretty good , could you post a picture of it , It sounds like a worth while upgrade

I have one that I got lucky to find on ebay years ago.
It is a 40" that folds around into two rings that fit in the cart easily.
My ring is made of a nylon material (best described) like if you had a giant zip tie 3/4 inch wide.
For the do-it-yourselfer there used to be some sold made to fold into a bucket
These were collapsible ones are made with a 3/4 inch clear tubing
You can purchase a replacement netting, (a lot of the guys like Ironman support Brunson's for netting) weave it through, connect together and add your tripod lines just like the ones sold.
When you twist the tube it turns into a figure eight and folds in half
Add whatever metal smaller ring to the bottom to keep it a bit open and so it sinks.
Doesn't matter that it folds over once you fish is in it.
