Penn 700
What is a Penn 700 [Greenie] in excellent condition worth?. I am purchasing one. Is there anything that can or needs to be done to up-grade it? Any information you have for me would be great.

like anything (worth is what YOU are willing to pay) I have one I used, but prefer the 706, for line capacity and NO bail....like the 704 you have to crank the handle to flip the bail back over....a diffident negative with me
drag washer upgrade....you will need 3 ht100 to replace the 1 thick existing washer
I did buy mine for 40.00 with a great rod included once the rod got redone....and the reel is really clean, with extra spool
the one to the far right (reel picture)

I saw the OD green rod that Bill stole from someone for a song . Looked pretty rough . After it was refinished ,it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful rod . I was truely impressed with the transformation !!!!! And to think a 700 reel came with it !

In really good condition they are only worth about $45.
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
