looking for 430ss main gear
had three teeth strip on my 430ss , any one got one they would let go of . its discontinued on scott's benn looking on ebay but would like to get one local if possible. part # 8-420 so one out of a 420ss will work. thanks

have you checked J&M tackle? John may have one, they are the best source I've seen for parts

I looked and I don't have one. Don't know if you're going to be able to find one or not. They are like the mystical unicorn! I do have a thought though. It may work and it may not. The pinion gear for that reel is a 716 part so I am thinking the 716 main gear should be the same size but with a different shaft length. You might be able to get a 716 gear and tap the pin out and switch the gears off of the shafts. Don't know this for a fact cause I don't have either gear to be able to compare. Might be easier to just find another reel. If you do find one you will probably need to change out the pinion gear also cause the gears break in to one another and putting a new and old gear together seldom works. They have a tendency to grind.
