I've seen it many times like that during duck season when a strong cold front pairs up with a super low tide, but never in September.
Its a good time to go out and mark the channels with your GPS, you can really see the edges of the shoals!Carl

Imagine seeing that on a regular basis, When I was living in Alaska and being way way North the tides are somewhat extreme, Prince William Sound, Cook Inlet would become mud flats and as fast as it emptied it would fill back up at the change of tides. Seeing that up there is the norm down here in the south it's humbling to see the power of storms
