Apparently, there are sharks in the Gulf.

Looks like Yahoo or International Business Times (where the article originally appeared) has changed the headline because this morning it read something along the lines of "Sharks Caught Swimming Close to Beach". Now it reads "Sharks Caught On Video Swimming Up To Florida Tourists"
https://www.yahoo.com/news/sharks-ca...204130185.html
People, if you go to the beach, you can see sharks. If you go to Africa on safari, you're likely to see lions, elephants, giraffes, etc. Go to the local forest around here, you're likely to see deer, turkey, squirrels, etc.

Hi Oceanends,
welcome to the GSPF.com.
Nice fish!
Happy to see others putting Sharks On the Sand.
I've been known to put a few ashore down in Ft. Morgan, and elsewhere too.
I use modified Penn Senators, 114HLW, 115L and 116L, on Penn Mariner and International V rods.
And I make my own 30'+, 500# leaders.
What are you using for your LBSF?

Where is everyone fishing Fort Morgan?
I have been where you enter a gate but never past that. Where is the good surf fishing at Fort Morgan?

The whole of the Point and Eastward is good.
Just read the water, look for deeper areas between the bars and cuts through the bars.
Look for rips and fish the edges and back side if you can cast far enough.
On the Point there is Dixie Bar, fantastic surf fishing.
On the Bay side is a steep drop off, usually within 25 yards of the surf, prime for many species.
The usually extensive shallows between Dixie Bar and the Bay side of the point is great for many such as Puppy Drum and Whiting.
Come to the Point between Oct-Jan and there are often hordes of Bull Reds and Big Black Drum, and they're hungry, toss the a fat shrimp or half a crab and hold on tight.
Great sharking year'round too.Ragnar Benson:

Caught that jewel with a 16/0 Penn with 130 lb test, 15 foot 200 lb leader with 6 feet of 300 lb stainless wire and 16/0 circle and a huge red snapper head!!!! We make all our leaders ourselves and I had alot of help. Without my brother and son I couldn't have landed it, specal thanks to my partners, big shark fishing is a team sport. As far as location goes were between Milepost 3 and 5 and kayak out between 200 to 500 yards and drop bait. This particular drop was only about 50 yards past the first sandbar right where the water turns deep blue.
