Is October a good month for catching whiting and what is the best technique ??????????

You can catch them here and there throughout the year but the winter is when I've seen the most caught. Carolina rig, fresh dead shrimp on bottom. Usually near the surf but not always.

We've always had lots of luck with Whiting on shrimp tipped Sabikis in the first trough.
I like the four hook (#6), rainbow skin rigs with heavier lines, 20# main and 40# drops.

October is generally a good month for whiting, the later (and cooler) the better it seems.
The end of October (some years ago) was when I first started using 2# test for them in the surf :yippee:
They are generally more easily caught from the beach then. Just a 1/2 of a fresh dead shrimp carolina rigged. :fishing:(RETIRED) mostly.
