A lot depends on what kind of water it pushes in, and I've had good and bad fishing on every wind there is.

Southeast is good, but a west wind in June and July can be great for king fishing. I remember my old buddy John Pierce saying, as tobacco juice rolled down his chin, "I wish we would get a little west wind, so I could float me a bait out to the double-nought zone." And we would get a west wind, and he would float one out to "the zone" and he would catch a 30-plus-pound king. Simple as that. So west can be pretty good, too.
