What species should I expect from the surf late October? I’ve been a March/April and early October visitor to GS for 35 years and due to vacation schedule this year the wife and will be down around the third and fourth week. Thanks in advance and blessings from Michigan

The later the better as the larger Whiting tend to be more plentiful the later it gets. I personally like early November even better but my wife does not like us to come too late. This year we will be down for a month from mid Oct to mid Nov if some **** hurricane does not blow the condo away first. On my last fall trip two years ago I had one afternoon when I kept 20 whiting and none were smaller than 15 inches. I usually do well with the flounder and slot reds as well but this year no flounder can be kept in November. I no longer fling the bubbles for Spanish but will drift a live LY off to the side and get my share that way. An occasional bluefish also comes in. Weather is usually more pleasant.
Missed last year because of sally, years prior have been first week of October, slot reds, blues, smaller whiting, many hammer handle sharks(sand is what I think they were referred to) a few pomp, and two permit. I’m assuming I may be dealing with cold fronts the closer I get to November. Thanks all!!!!!
