We're new to pier fishing .. bait & rig setup?
When we do fish it's mostly freshwater
Looking for advice for fishing this weekend
at Gulf Shores state park pier. What is the
most popular and successful rig set up
and best baits to use. And what is being
caught at this time. Looks like northerly
winds this wkend.
Also, if there are other local 'hotspots',
we can venture out of park too.
Thanks in advance.

A good 3000 size spinning reel with 10-12lb test mono is a starting point and a good 'all around' setup. Also from my limited reading as of late the sheepies seem to be biting so you may want to get live shrimp and some ghost shrimp if you're able.
