Pass.
Unfortunately, only gradual improvement forecast through the middle of next week...

The water's going to be stirred up for awhile. I'm a big believer in taking what nature has to offer and for the next few days, until later next week, it's just not looking all that great. If it's a nice day, by all means get outside and take in some fresh air and get some exercise. If there's lightning, stay inside. There's no such thing as "braving" lightning.
I have been waiting for mid-March since last spring...was more than glad to say goodbye to the speck fishing...A hot winter and wacky weather seemed to prevent Magnolia River from living up to its reputation.. Got the bigger rods rigged, boat situated..now just waiting on the first fishable day.
If I had a fishing trip planned for this weekend, I would cancel and reschedule. We've had 8' seas all week and now torrential rain plus 8' seas. Water is going to be dingy for a while.
If you are coming down just to hang out, stick your toes in the sand and enjoy a beverage, then, the weather might be decent by Sunday morning.
But fishing is gonna be messed up, I think until mid- to late week, as Pier#R already said.
Gurgle, glub, gasp, sputter. Ain't no sense in the weather being like this. Weather has been crappy since Obama took office.
I've put new line on my reels, shined my rods, sharpened my fillet knives and rearranged my tackle until I'll never find anything again. I guess I had better attend opening day of turkey season next week.
With all the fresh water that is going to be heading your way......well next week might be wishing
I might try it Tuesday. Fish the shallows with live shrimp or see if any sheepies are hanging around the octi.
I might be down next Saturday, we'll see how the weather and reports shape up.
I was hoping things might improve by then.
Maybe not...

Friday
A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 68.
When i drove by the wier today the current was reversed. But last fall it was reversed for almost 5 days straight and i only heard of one or 2 reds. Wondering if the lakes been fished out for reds.
Corey,
Haven't seen a red in a while. Don't know why they're not around in the numbers we had last year! I've wasted a lot of money on fresh cut mullet without any result. Hoping the weather breaks soon so we can get back out there...
I will be down there on the week of the 20th hope it gets better
A little over 5" of rain at our house in Mobile in the last 24 hours.
But we are getting a break now and the radar is looking much better.
We'll see how thing build as the day warms up.
There is a large cluster of rain moving in from offshore but it looks like the worst is over for us as the main rain line is moving east.
Eastern Baldwin County & Pensacola may get the worst of it today.
Walked out this morning talked to Harley for a while also saw dale and slim. Water wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. Its pretty churned up but the surf has calmed down alot. Saw three pin fish caught. And one guy lost a nice sheeps head. Im still gonna wait a couple days beforw i drag all the gear out and try it.
Thanks Corey!
Was that from the end?
Wave heights are half what they were yesterday, but the swell period is still long (8 -9 seconds) which indicates the waves have a LOT of energy for their size.
Hopefully it will keep clearing...
The sheeps head was at the T and the pin fish were shallow. The water looked the same from the shallows to the octi. Harley had something grab his looney jig with a belly strip but missed the hook set.
Well, it's 4:00 p.m. and the rain has stopped but the wind is blowing again. A little earlier I saw a frigate bird as I was driving down Canal Rd. East, and I just now saw a bluejay having a hard time making headway across the church parking lot next door. He gave up and made a sideways dart into a nearby camellia bush to get his breath. I'll keep watching to see if he walks the rest of the way---the yellow cat is helping me watch, with great interest.
This weather is killing me, when I finally have a chance to come for a bit.
Well, its beautiful outside this morning. Offshore buoy is reporting light winds and calming seas.
Wonder if anyone is fishing???
It sure is pretty and calm here at my house on Canal Road. I'm already committed to turkey hunting, though, and am on my way.
Only a few more days got the Penn 706.s ready to rock and roll weather is looking good
