    We need YOUR help, NOW!

Everybody please get on the phone or shoot an email to your Alabama State Reps today or tomorrow
    asking them to OPPOSE HB437

The bill is being pushed heavily by the commercial fisherman in an effort to obtain 2 spots on the CAB
(Conservation Advisory Board) for commercial fisherman/ commercial fishing industry.
If they are successful this could set us back 10 years.
The commercial interests are trying to stack the CAB so they can push through whatever regulation they want or do away with whatever regulation they want.
If they succeed, they can potentially do away with pesky things like gillnet restrictions, speckled trout and redfish being gamefish they can't legally target, etc.
The foxes are trying to be put in charge of guarding the hen house.

PLEASE contact your Rep we must defeat this Bill.
Share with anyone you think will help make a call or send an email.

The link below takes you to the Representatives page and has the phone numbers or you can click their name and send an email stating “ you need to oppose HB437”. If you call you can tell whoever answers phone.

Re: We need YOUR help, NOW!

Why is it that these sponcers think, that the industry needs more representation;when Section 9-2-4 of the general codes of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources;Powers and Duties as to seafoods.ect.In this Section Paragraph (b) The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources may by order duly made and published prescribe the manner of taking or catching, the time when and designate the place from which seafoods may or may not be taken or caught during certain periods of the year,or entirely,AS IT MAY DEEM TO BE FOR THE BEST INTEREST OF THE SEAFOOD INDUSTRY.
This will produces a situation where the industry, will be on the inside;where they will be able to make rules that favor their exploitation of the resource and block attempts to preserve it.They have already done this with mullet during roe season;with there friends already on the board.I bet that the almost all of the 37 co-sponcers;have no idea that the industry has so much power and protection, already codifided in the code .David ;provided the link with their ph #,and how to e-mail them.Let they know what you think as well is this section of the code.

Re: We need YOUR help, NOW!

Here is an insight into the way these guys think...
This board has 10 members 2 additional will not have a impact on a vote but it will give the industry a voice. I feel you have misguided information the commercial fishermen are also recreational fishermen and they have no problem with you. I want to see some representation for the ones being regulated. It is the right thing to do. It is the Republican thing to do. Thank you Rep. David Sessions
    WTF? ???

That's like saying a chronic speeder needs representation on the transpotation safety board because he is a pedestrian until he gets behind the wheel. :
These greedy bastages want it ALL!
Just wait, in two weeks when the gillnet season opens for spanish mackerel those boats will swarm around the pier like a flock of vultures.

This is a disgusting display of politics at it's worst, IMHO they are trying to 'stack the deck'.

Re: We need YOUR help, NOW!

Yall need to get on this. This is trying to stack the deck with lobbyist;and we need to tell all of the sponcers to reject this proposal by a south Mobile Co seafood rep.We do not need to be paying these lobbyist by putting them on this Advisory Board. Say no to the lobbyist, reject HB437.

I sent an email to the legislature voicing my opinion and called the number for Joe Faust which is disconnected for some reason. I hope some of the 120 viewers sent the word.
