I not sure what ya talking about but they are really sensitive drags..i got 2 and dad just got a new one for x-mas the reel is kinda stiff just gotta kill some fish on em i guess :headbang:
well thats what ive heard and thats why im thinking there is something wrong with it. I may have to send it back and see if they can tweak it or something
Some of the drags have to be broken on those reels. The quickest way to break it in is to hook it up to a car.
Oh ok cool. Thats what ive heard of doing. Should it break in fairly quickly after doing that?
I played with one in J&M and noticed that the drag seemed really tight.
As much as those things cost you would think it wouldn't require anything but spooling line and casting out. I get that kind of service from Abu Garcia for $29.95. :)

Fixed it for ya Rich ;-) :D
:poke1: j/k folks!
A LOT of spinning reels require a tweek or two with the drag, handle, line roller, etc.
But yeah, most folks won't expect that from the higher end reels. :-X
I'm guessing that the tightness in drag is a lot like the tightness or slight jerkiness when reeling that some folks notice in the VS and is a function of being a salt-water sealed reel. You probably don't drop the reel into the ocean but once from a pier :spank: , but for surf fishermen dunking can occur regularly. Until they build a reel with a bilge pump, you either take it apart for maintenance or get a sealed reel for dunking.
