Man, I don’t know if I would call the weather tropical or not. Last time I was down in winter, it was chilly, with pretty sustained wind. Still not as cold as where I live, but far from tropical.

The running joke when I lived in Auburn and we went to Panama city was that anyone we saw swimming at spring break probably was a snowbird from Canada. The Gulf was far warmer than my memories of the beaches of Lake Michigan.

Haha yea,…when I was a kid in the 70’s we’d go to Cape Cod in the summer to see my grandparents. When we got into the water our feet still turned blue from the cold. Nobody got in past their ankles but we had fun anyway,.

We lived in Maryland and when I finally got to the beach (Ocean City) as a teenager, I thought…..”Wow,..look at all those people in the water, they must be crazy !!” I didn’t know that the ocean water could be warm, haha.
