Does j&m have spider weights? If not, anywhere else near gulf shores?
Yes they do....but I find them not holding very well(have similar from the east coast piers),

so I make my own.....there is a mold for them if you wanted to make your own.....
I changed mine up like Norms down there , that lock in real good ( some are with 10ga. Copper wire) and the other is with stiff brazing rod , that holds the best at gulf shores.....both are very good, just experimenting some.....Norm altered a egg weght mold , I made my mold out of aluminum plate (I am cheap)
Dang hit the edit twice
Thank you. I've used the smaller version with a longer shaft in the past with good results. Beats a pyramid at least.

Both you can buy on line
Ironman, I finally learned the correct way to bend the copper wires on the ones you sent and they will hold in a williwaw. The only problem now is that I tend to stretch the anchor line too tightly and it gets cut when it shouldn't. We learn by our mistakes. I should be really, really smart by now.
They make kind in the first picture shown with the longer tail of the second picture. The first picture variety are designed to release so they can be retrieved more easily, but the second is more suited to trolley anchoring. Also, in spite of our image of satellites, Sputnik 1 looked more like picture 2, with arms pointed back toward you.

Picture 1 as shown would keep arms from digging in.

Not going to use these, unless melting down for the lead, to make custom ones
I use 25# mono.
I feel like a kid at Christmas with a new toy and no batteries. I made all my wire releases and got my sinkers but had to leave early and now have no where to use them.
