I'm coming down on Sunday and will be staying through next Saturday at Orange Beach. Haven't heard much talk about Spanish Mackerel lately, and was just wondering when yall were expecting them to arrive. Thanks, grubworm.

Check the report section. Key chains were caught a couple days ago.
Saw three caught around 8:30 am by guys on Sabiki rigs. Small to average in size. After that none was caught at least down at the octi while I was there.
They were supposed to already be here, but there was some sort of problem with immigration papers at the border.
Heard they did not like the Obummer immigration deal cause there were not enough free Git-Zits to go around .. :)
There should be more spanish available as the water continues to warm and they feel the need to feed. A couple of degrees makes all the difference! Remember, not too long ago it was freezing-cold! Sometimes now, they'll just half-heartedly slash at a lure, not wishing to expend a log of energy. It was in a situation like this a couple of years ago, when I just killed 'em with live shrimp, which I had brought to use for pompano and sheepshead. I used a short length( 8-10 inches) of wire leader for the spanish and a really small egg sinker because they were down in the water column and reluctant to, again, expend the energy to rise.
