custom rod builder?
I’m lookin to get a new rod before the season really kicks off, wanting a new pier rod. 8ftish, sensitive tip, etc. I have an off the rack j&m pier rod which I love dearly but want something a little lighter, maybe with a unique design doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Does anyone have any suggestions? Might just call j&m and see what they can do for me but wanted to see what forum goers had to say maybe someone has one for sale

Getting one built before the season rolls will probably be iffy. Try Todd Taylor or see what Kathy has on the custom rack at the Rod Room. Good luck

There's no shortage of used rods for sale out there and there are some really good rods on the rack. Look at Star, St Croix, or Loomis and you won't go wrong.

James Pemberton makes great rods and has some for sale. I bought a 8.5 foot from him that is one awesome rod. He also makes Frisky Fins pomp rigs and is Big Boy James on this forum. He has a FB page. Good product and great to deal with.
I saw one yesterday but it was closed mouth. Would not eat anything thrown. I personally know of 3 that have been caught in the last two weeks. No kings yet.
