Top water
With the Sharks going after everything, are you having to use wire leaders on the top water plugs and jerk baits?

Haven't been there in a couple of weeks but very few people even throwing them cause of the sharks. I'm no expert on the pier but if throwing anything other that a bait I didn't care about I believe would wait till I knew there were kings around. Did see a few people throwing smaller jerk baits for Spanish.

I used 2 1/2" malin wire behind the straw on a couple bubble rigs last week to help with frayed line and as feared, lost the entire rig instead of just the straw and hooked. Went back to just straight fluorocarbon really quickly. Won't try that again with sharks around like they are.
