I fished Navarre Beach Pier almost daily for 11 months a couple of years ago, and have gone back a few times a year since then. They have a group of shark fishermen who fish evenings, mostly tag and release. And they allow catching sharks, but don't encourage it. I have never been "sharked" there. They also do not allow fish cleaning. I don't know how much of the difference is due to the fish cleaning issue or how much is due to the sharks knowing they have a predator on the pier. There is definitely a big difference.

Call the City of Orange Beach and ask them. Pretty sure it's not allowed in Orange Beach or Gulf Shores.

I regularly fish several FL piers and GSP a few times a year. The FL piers allow shark fishing. I don't get what the fuss is in allowing them to be caught. It is just another fish. I know no deleterious effect from shark fishing east of there. If anything it seems to me it is more of a hazard to swimmers if they are not caught if that is the fear.
