For oct/nov is cut Croaker good bait?

I have been catching mucho croaker her in LA. Decided to slice down for cut bait for trip to GS in late October. I assume the reds will eat it but will the speckled trout? What else will or is it not worth it? Will it just catch sharks and stingray? Thanks.

Good eating when you catch good size ones. A 12 inch croaker will give you two decent filets. Reds and blues both eat cut croaker and small live ones will catch almost anything.

Sounds like cut croaker isn’t that popular.

Any frozen bait will be inferior to fresh dead. And coaker, mullet as well as other 'fatty' fish are way more attractive bait when they are fresh cut.
