They bought one in south Florida and moved the inventory to a big empty store (car dealership?) in Alabama.

Hopefully new owners run it right or it will end up like Smith outdoors on canal road

I already question their business model going up against J&M. John has been established for years as the #1 tackle store in Orange Beach area. I guess they think they can come in and make a go of it based on their "celebrity" status from youtub.com

Somewhere in in Gulf Shores is the restaurant with the absolute best food, and yet all the others somehow stay in business. It's the same with tackle stores or any other retail store.
There are many reasons people make shopping choices we find strange. If you don't know anything, how would you know you are in a bad place with bad prices? Tourists visit whatever they see first. At 5 am folks want to make the fewest detours between motel and pier. People look to see if a different store has something different they can't find where they usually go.
I'll be betting on J&M to still be viable long after the others fade but as long as someone out there will buy bait in Kroger or tackle off a peg in a gas station, other tackle stores will try their luck.
I saw one yesterday but it was closed mouth. Would not eat anything thrown. I personally know of 3 that have been caught in the last two weeks. No kings yet.
