Rod Question???
I'm new to this and need a rod. I really want one of the 1pc in stock custom rods from j&m john g spoke of but I have limit traveling space. So my question is any suggestions on a 2pc King rod.

Re: Rod Question???
If you would like a 2 piece rod I can build one without a problem. Only thing is with two piece rods it your limited on the selection of blanks and actions that are offered. I will say this, my favorite king rod is actually a two piece and works great.

Re: Rod Question???
I have traveled with long one piece rods in some mighty small vehicles, safely and comfortably. Before you totally nix the idea of a one piece rod, tell us more about what you consider limited travel space. What are you rolling in? What other gear, luggage and passengers are along for the ride and where will it/they be situated?

Re: Rod Question???
[size=12pt]I drive a midsize SUV and made a rack in the cargo area level with the dash and I can put a 9’ rod in with a couple inches to spare.

Re: Rod Question???
I've been using the same two piece fiberglass rod for kings since 1984. I like it, it works for me.
Commercial two piece rods are out there, they wont have the feel or action of the rods they make at J&M, but they will work. If you got the $$, have John build you one.Carl

Re: Rod Question???
If you're by yourself just lay down the passenger seat put the butt of your rod on the floorboard and you could probably fit a 10' rod in something the size of your wife's KIA.
