I mean, I know... but... ya know? They're colorful, they probably taste like fish... but, ya know?

Fish eat fishbites; anything is possible. The pink teasers on goofy jigs are eye-catching but have 0 flavor and they seem to help.
so you'll try some and tell us what you found out?
That's great, Thanks MWE!
Power Bait Power Eggs might work. They’re kinda gummy and will mold around the hook. Interesting question.
I have the Power Eggs for inland (stocked) trout season; much more storage-durable than preserved real eggs or skein. I'd add one to a sand flea or shrimp to add color. Now all I need is a chance to fish.
Another pomp experiment is replacing the teasers on goofy jigs with a 1" or 1.5" plastic crappie jig tail. The right size and colors are available and I can find swim jigs (for walleye) everywhere. Little tiny split rings and straight hooks would allow changing teaser colors easily.
More than 20 years ago, some of us on the old Pensacola Bay Fishing Pier forum discussed using 1" pompoms for crafting on pompano rigs.
Back then, all double drop rigs were bare or had an orange glow bead on the double line at the top of the hook.
I would pull out the orange, yellow and red pompoms and soak them in the baggie with my bait shrimp.
Using them with thumbnail size pieces of shrimp had pretty good results on pompano, ladyfish and hardheads, etc.
A couple of years later Fishbites was introduced, and the following year they started making orange shrimp flavor.
So that kindof rendered the pompoms archaic. But they do work...

I have an old undated article (20 plus years ago) in which a guide glued pompoms on his sheepshead hooks. The idea was get some shrimp flavor on them and possible tooth tangle for an extra split second for a hook set. A lot of people try different things/ideas some work some are wash outs. That's another aspect of the great sport of fishing that I enjoy ! jjm
