Pigs and Idiots Hall of Shame!

This thread is dedicated to those people who are the unappreciative pigs and dumbasses that defame our wonderful playground! Everybody that fishes on the GSP Pier has a responsibility to behave like human beings and not some kind of subhuman species lacking intelligence.
Although the pier staff works hard to keep the pier clean, they are no match for the idiots and pigs that lack the ability to appreciate what has been provided for all to enjoy.
If your picture or handy work ends up in this thread, you should be ashamed to show your face in public!
I started this thread after I am fed up with the mess that some people leave behind for others to clean up. We all need to clean up our own mess! If the garbage bag fits, wear it.
Please don’t be offended, get mad and let offenders know you don’t appreciate their behavior!

This is my perfectly good shirt after I leaned over the rail Tuesday, to net or gaff a fish for someone. Some pig had been cutting bait on the rail and left the remains behind.

Last time I was there, I tripped and almost broke my neck on about 20 ft of line someone left on the deck :angry:

The problem with the signs are the way they are worded.

They say:

[size=12pt]All tackle "except one rod & reel", chairs, chest, etc. must remain behind the red line[/size]

The problem is with English literature. Since the items are broken apart with commas, the language can be interpreted as being allowed to have one rod & reel, 1 chest and 1 chair, and 1 etc., within the red line. The only thing the sign says to keep behind the red line with such wording is the "all tackle."

We need the signs to read a statement more clearly.

Perhaps:

[size=12pt] All equipment MUST stay behind the RED LINE at all times. Only ONE rod & reel per angler is allowed. [/size]

I cant stand the cutting on the rails! Or leaving hooks and line laying around. Im a nice guy but im sick of digging treble hooks out of my flip flops and my arm

I seen when i was there people cutting bait and leaving most of it to dry out right in front of my grandsons wheel chair when he was fishing at the handicap spot. Some pigs are never going to be nice but will raise hell when others make a mess in front of them. :puke:

I have yelled at them Nasty Vietnamese hard tail killers that there nasty And seen a guy cutting fish on the tables i asked him how stupid you gotta be to cut fish on a table that people eat at :spank: another one i don't like is people using the tables for a pier cart really no one wants to sit around ya rods and tackle laying all over the place :spank: Or leave them laying around on the pier :spank: there my $0.2 cents worth

Not everyone can afford a cart, but unfortunatley there really isn't any place to put their spare rods due to the fact that most of the spare space on the pier houses has seating around it. I wish we could get one of the rod holders like Pcola has. I think it would really help with some of the clutter around the seating areas.

that would be nice... but I absolutely hate seeing 20 rods leaning on the picnic table also

I would imagine the Rod Racks would promote Theft.....No offense but I have seen enough nice carts built that cost a fraction of what a retail kart cost.

They would promote theft no more than a cart full of van staals would.

They have rod racks but they keep them down at the pier house. Might be a good suggestion to say maybe bolt down a couple on the octi to cut down on the rods everywhere some days.

There really isn't anything quite like walking up to the rail and unknowingly leaning into a nice mix of fishguts and bait. Makes my skin cringe, the octi's looking pretty dirty from all the trash and filth lately. Good thing for the rain or the place would never look clean.

Since I typically get there very early, I can say most of the fish guts are coming from the midnight crowds who are attempting to catch some certain... bottom feeding fish.. prior to daylight hours. :poke1:

If pier management would get off its a$$ and have the octi power washed every other day, most of those problems wouldn't be so bad. But, oh hell no. They're gonna wait until someone gets hurt badly before they do anything. :spank:

Why don’t all the physically fit fisherman show up in the middle of the night once in a while armed with water hoses & nozzles and just start washing away the mess along with the pigs that made the mess.
Also that would be a good time for the pier staff to break out the power washer and do the same!

The mess the night pigs make is more than the staff can handle, IMHO

Thats why you wont see me running around barefoot out ther. Its a wonder no onegets a stray hook in the foot more often. I think its mostly the nocturnal crowd thats the messiest!

We're not going to put this all on pier staff.

Most of us early birds rinse the rails and deck off prior to the sun coming up voluntarily.

There just needs to be others who are willing to do the same when certain of us aren't around.

Also, if those night hawks would clean up after themselves, this would go away entirely.

The ones leaving the mess are NOT tourists. I see them often, and they know who they are.

The more I read that sign, the more confusing it gets. I swear it says it is okay to have one rod a chair and a chest at the rail.

That had to have been written by a lawyer.

Short of writing it properly, if they had simply put parenthses around the (chairs, chests, etc) it would have worked.
Not a lawyer, someone who missed sentence construction and punctuation altogether.

The sign wording has been something I've fussed about for awhile.

It is one of those things that we all know exactly what message it is conveying, but some people will pretend it doesn't apply to them because it is improperly worded and punctuated. :spank: :spank:

I am ignorant of most things I have little experience in but why doesnt the park have someone to regularly patrol the pier to warn violators? Who are the guys on the golf carts and what do they do?

If they would change the quotation marks to parenthesis it would read correctly:

That should be an easy, cost effective fix.

Doesnt matter how they word the signs, dumbasses wont read or pay attention anyway....

And when you complain about the pier being understaffed and not having the people or time to clean up after these idiots, make sure to call your state senator & rep in Montgomery and remind them that the Parks Division budget needs to be adequately funded and should not be gutted.

Someone take a white paint pen and place a comma after "ALL TACKEL", then it will work right. :poke1:

I have no problem with being the/one of the guys telling people to clean up their chit but if I do, it would be appreciated for others to chime in and back me up...especially when it's some younger punk from out of town and wants to cuss you for even mentioning it. Then when I give him a swift back-hand to the face I'm the bad guy ;D

No honestly there was an altercation between one of the regs (forget his name) and a tourist a few weeks back and the tourist got a little mouthy...no one, even myself, stepped in to back the reg up and it made the whole situation very loud and awkward.

Yes a BIG Comma after TACKLE and then if EXCEPT ONE ROD & REEL were in a different color, like brown...... really, or at least some other color other than white ... (if they are too Dumb to fish with a "ROD & REEL" , they don't need to be out there).

permanent magic markers ......would help that sign.....but they still need to be able to read it....or care too

Any one with enough brain power to stand upright knows damn well what is said implied meant or whatever with the sign.They are just being ignorant or downright inconsiderate!! REGARDLESS HOW ITS PUNCTUATED!
