Penn 6500ss and 4500ss ??
After reading through a few threads on these forums I was leaning towards ordering 2 reels, the Penn 6500 ss and 4500 ss. I plan on fishing for everything EXCEPT cobia and kings.
In your opinion will I be happy with this purchase?

I use a 6500 for kings, haven't had any trouble with it yet....has come close to the bottom of the spool a time or two....but was able to get line back on the reel with no trouble.....those should do good for you.....something smaller for a bait rod....or even pompano, flounder too....2500 series

Even the 4500 might be too big for you, then. I have caught King on the pier with a 4500 before. If you are fishing for smaller fish, but are serious, you might want to look into a Stradic. One of those might be your best bet.

I used mine for 11 years ond only had the anti revirse spring clip go bad but i'd go with the 4400,4300,4500 i think the 6500 to big for smaller fish i know your not wanting to catch king so i'd go with the smaller ones :fishing:
