Oldest Pier Rat
It’s Lou’s birthday next week making him( I believe) the oldest active pier rat! What a great guy and fisherman as well. I love him and Cher like they were my own parents Happy birthday Lou!

Best 'fishes' on your birthday, Lou!
Lou Villanova caught one of the first fish I saw landed on the 'new pier' just a few minutes after the 'Soft Opening' of June 20, 2009...

Just think of all the rail time Lou and Cher have out there ! Taking out downtime between old and new piers, weekends and such it’s still prolly close to 10,000 days-give or take!!

I believe Lou was the gentlemen that helped pull up my 1st Big Red Drum. Him and my papa where ear to ear smiles looking at it. It wasn't a monster, 16lb, but my first that size. That was on the old pier 40+ years ago. I could be wrong, but I know while I was in the Marines, when my wife and I came back to visit, he was one of the people she always wanted to see.
Happy Birthday Lou!

Tried to give Lou some cangrejo last week he said no thanks too much work! He then added he wouldn’t mind some whiting or flounder though-cleaned of course
I saw one yesterday but it was closed mouth. Would not eat anything thrown. I personally know of 3 that have been caught in the last two weeks. No kings yet.
