Thread: shark fishing

Staying on the gulf side of ft morgan this week. What's the best v way to get on some ddecent sharks at night? Have tried kayaking out and leaving a piece of cut bait on a shark rig but getting nothing but catfish. Any help?

Bigger bait or live bait ;-)

Use a circle hook between dime and nickel size and bring on an injured live bait.

I like 27# - 31# single strand steel leader about 36" long when hooking into sharks.

Also, give them some time to feed--usually 10-20 seconds. They typically swim a small distance with their food before actually swallowing it.
