Newbie help?
From Dallas, visiting for the week. Tried sat night to catch some visible freckle fish.. No dice! What times should I be targeting? Sunset or sunrise, or midnight? I don't want to keep any, just get my line stretched. Got the gear( spinning) for light and heavyweights! I am planning on going this afternoon and hit the sunset bite. I have spoons, gotchas, circle hooks, sabiki rigs, weights, plenty of line.... And a TON of "want to"! Thanks for any help any has to offer ;)

Re: Newbie help?
First off, thank all of you! I started with no knowledge and now feel like a veteran! Caught bluefish one afternoon until sunset, went back this morning and decided to test out my larger spinning rig on the end. I observed how everyone was drifting livies, so took my bottom rig off and pinned on a livie. After changing three dead ones I finally hooked into a red. I was gonna pop it off, as I didn't plan on keeping fish. A guy with a net helped me land it so I decided pics with my son were in order. It's on Ice awaiting pics and a sharp knife! Thanks a ton for the help online and in person!

To add: got a good laugh how fast the oriental people with not much experience can move right under your feet.. A few "ooops" with the rod and bait dangling in their face helps them get the point!
