GSP vs Others, What Makes The Crowd Here So Much Better?

It is a crying shame to see such as this posted, a report about out of control Googan Pier Rats.
I'm curious, I don't see this from the younger crowd at GSP, and I don't think the responsible adult regulars would tolerate it.

What the heck am I yapping about?
This post at PFF, Pier Rats gone berserk @ Navarre,...Police called ! ! - Pensacola Fishing Forum
The redneck Riviera pier rats @ Navarre Pier really out did themselves this morning....about 10:30 a local rat yells ......." GET OFF THE F$*`N RAIL BITCHES...... I GOT A COBIA ! ! ! ".......
As everyone scurried to obey the barbarian voice of the pothead, a young boy was knocked down and trampled.....
He was there with his older brother and his ..... MOTHER,....she was not happy ! ! ..... The language only worsened as the reprobate wrestled his prize into possession......( get the F`n gaff bitch )......all in all a very embarrassing spectacle for all but about 6 or 7 of the local THC addicts....
The Lady from the office was summoned and the boys mother called police.....the main perpertrator was long gone......showed up later....

When is it going to end guys ? ? ..... When is Pier Management going to put up a sign along with the sign that says you will be Banned for not Paying ????....When is Santa Rosa County going to realize what is going on...? Will it take an injury lawsuit ? ? ? Who wants to see children injured ? ?

Why do these nasty mouth punks own the finest pier in the Gulf.......? .. ?.....why .............anybody have an answer ?

How utterly sad, ridiculous, and dangerous will it become............unbelievable......

There was 2 that got nasty with me a few weeks ago when I was fishing there but that didn't last long when I went from the nice guy that you all know to the much darker version of me that I don't let come out very often, the turds decided it would be in there best interest to leave.

It's a lot like letting yourself be treed by piss ants, don't tolerate rudeness and foul mouths. I hate it for the folks at Navarre, but if the adults and the management allow it to happen it will continue. The GSSP is a treasure and we should treat it that way period.

Well my experience at the pier has been very fun. The only time I heard real bad language was a woman dropping the bomb over and over when about 15 people hooked up on reds!

Well said David, there is a treasure here, never fished the other but disrespect for the kiddos is intolerable, I personally would not stand by and allow it to happen in front of me, much like most everyone in this forum wouldn't.

I fished Navarre quite a bit(more than GSP) past year and didn't have many problems. That being said, I have been fishing GSP almost exclusively this year again. The pier changed ownership earlier this year and since then it hasn't been quite the same. They removed all the benches from the pier(weren't many to begin with), took out the kitchen(don't believe Ms Pat is cooking breakfast any more which is a real bummer), and maintenance and keep up seem to have deteriorated a bit. It is about a 15 min more drive there over GSP. Yes they get mahi, sailfish, and blackfin tuna and I want to try to catch some, but I think I will stick with GSP for the most part. At least there I have somewhere to sit, in shade mind you, don't have to walk half a mile to get to the bathroom, and I have what I consider a tight knit family that genuinely cares about the facilities as well as the people around them. Choice is pretty easy.

Youngsters only get away with what they are allowed to get away with. I detest anyone dropping F bombs in public, particularly when ladies and children are present.

The regulars on the pier are to be commended for making the GSFP what it is---I've seen different people correct the youngsters when they need it, but more importantly, they will help newcomers be included in the "pier family"---making them feel welcome and a part of what's going on.

I think this forum is an extremely important part of the positive atmosphere because we talk to each other on the forum when we can't be together on the pier. There's a lot more agreement than disagreement, and the folks I correspond with on here have obviously been "raised right".
We provide good examples for the most part with the possible exception of that notorious reprobate, Pier#r---he's so rowdy and unfriendly. Yeah, right.

I don't have a problem in the world with calling the pier house to report problems and letting those who are paid to do so, handle them.

GSP is a different world than what I grew up fishing. Piers in south florida can hold some of the best fishing around but also have some of the biggest low lifes. The lake worth pier use to have locals that would rope off the end of the pier (no T) and not allow anyone else to fish. Like they owned it. These were not kids either. I've seen everything from fights, drugs and even a stabbing. I've fished places where if you weren't carrying a gun you might lose your gear. Dont take the GSP for granted. Its a beautiful place and always a pleasure to fish. I'm very glad I stumbled on the old forum a few years ago and took my first trip down. The locals are amazing.
