"A man to stand in the gap"

Ezekiel 22:30 Given the sudden loss of the Pier#r (to a real job)and his priceless advise and service I wondered just who could "step up" and fill such a large pair of shoes.
No more can anyone advise new comers "contact #r". I have several thoughts, in no particular order.
(4) Slim, first told me of this forum. A master in the skinny water and full of thoughtful advise.
(3) Fin Chaser, no doubt one of the most knowledgeable men on the pier. Day in and day out in the hunt.
(2) Haywire, a natural choice. Always jovial and willing to give thoughtful advise. One might compare his relationship with Pier#r as equal to that of Yoda and Obie Wan.
Has been known to stop fishing and tie a rig for a regular tourist. For free...at least the first one. Subsequent ones are "very expensive".
(1) Wilson, aka Salt_Water_Guy. A forceful presence on the pier. Highly qualified (caught this years first cobia). Truly able to fill a large pair of shoes. And a side thought.
You can not fish the pier without seeing a multitude of J&M shirts. I envision a full line of SWG fishing apparel. Tank tops with the outline of a shark on the back and SWG on
the front, shorts and flip flops. Maybe even a small boutique by the pier house next to the highly successful restaurant.

Truly a unique opportunity. So many talented and resourceful people on the pier on a regular basis. Maybe one of the "young guns" KingKiller comes to mind.

Looking forward to hearing who I can contact in Sept on this falls trip......:)

I hear his new business will be called "Remora charters" ;-) LOL

I met a guy named Danny who is doing something similar. I told him he needed to join the forum. Some of the regulars may know how to contact him.

Just curious, what time would you have to leave the house to meet a client at Fort Morgan before daylight?

"If nominated, I will not run. If elected I will not serve." I spent enough time running charters to finally get smart. It's really painful to have paying customers on those days when the fish refuse to bite and there's not a d@mned thing you can do about it. Also, there's a big difference in going fishing when you want to and going fishing when you have to.

Yeah, that gets 'old' after 2 or 3 days in a row on just 4 or 5 hours sleep!
Paul Eberly was right 35 years ago when he told me "fishing for a living has a way of sucking the fun out of it."

Not that I didn't enjoy practically every person and family I fished with over the past two years, but George nailed it.

Besides how many folks endure an hour or hour and a half commute to work (each way) and stand in the blazing summer sun all day and call it fun? LOL

No worries though, as I predict there will be plenty of 'wannabees' and 'pretenders' to fill those shoes ;-)

About 21 hours nineteen minutes, depending on traffic. So clients will have to give me at least a days notice.

If BDL1969 were to leave home at 12:00 pm going 70 mph and a King was to leave Pensecola Pier heading west, feeding as he went, what time would they meet at the octi?

Have you figured how many clients to schedule a week BDL?

good luck with all that...as stated ....it can darn right take all the fun out of fishing....going when you have to.... rather then, when you want to ....for me though when there..... it is everyday whether for a week to 10 day stay or when able, a month long one.....I come to fish
