Leader for throwing king baits, xraps, large spoons ect..
Wondering what kind of leader ya'll use when throwing artificials for kings, i used wite the last couple times i was down but seemed to take away from the action a bit, but on the other hand i'd rather not get bit off on the first strike as well

Try a 6"-8" 27#to 38# single strand wire leader for kings (you can add some 30# -40# clear mono above that if you want ;-)
I use about 4" of 27# wire and/or 40# clear mono to help prevent cutoffs from spanish mackerel on my smaller lures.
BTW, the #10 swivels and crosslock snap swivels test at 55 pounds!
Hope this helps!Last edited by Pier#r; 05-16-2016 at 09:02 PM.

I like the nickle-titanium single strand that came out a few years ago. It cost a bit more, but it doesn't kink.
Women cry at the end of TITANIC.
Men cry at the end of GLADIATOR.
