I don't think it bothers them. Yesterday we were out and skipjack and Spanish were everywhere feeding on minnows with the sea nettles everywhere. I was cast netting a few mullet for the smoker and caught more jellyfish than mullet (and I caught 20 mullet). A painful batch for the smoker, for sure! I have caught a lot of kings and bonitos when sea nettles were plentiful as well.
Tom, do you remember when Hollis Ledlow would show us his "battle scars" (jellyfish stings) from cast netting mullet in August.
Better to snatch them from the beach back then, and not even get in the water.
Tom, are the jellyfish thick as far out as the rigs?
God hasn't created a jellyfish that could thwart Mr. Hollis! And there were no jellyfish that I noticed at the rigs on Monday when we were last there.
