Had a pretty good day offshore last Sunday
got a 103lb yellowfin, a barely legal swordfish, and a few schoolie dolphin (one chicken and two closer to 10lb)

Nice catch, searing YFT. Where'd y'all fish? Were heading out Monday night, weather permitting, to the Petronius. Y'all get any BFT?

Re: Had a pretty good day offshore last Sunday
We weren't fishing the rigs. we fished farther to the east (close to the Spur)...the tuna was caught trolling on a weedline. We don't catch many big yellowfin trolling....when we target them, we go to the rigs, and either live bait or chunk....vertical jigs for the blackfin. Good luck to you! I'm sure there will be blackfin at the Petronius.

If you're talking about leaving out of OB, it's around 70-80Nm to the Petronius. From there, you have quite a few rigs that are fishable.

Re: Had a pretty good day offshore last Sunday
YFT are some of the most incredible fighters pound for pound. I caught my first one in Gulf Shores when I was 14 years old. 89#r took me 2.5 hrs to bring in with my dad and another friend holding me so I didn't get pulled off the boat and lose the pole. That memorable experience is truly what got me hooked on saltwater fishing.
I have a LOT of respect seeing that 103#r in your hands. Great work fiver!
Wooo! :headbang:

I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
