    Fort Morgan fishing beach ??

I was looking on Google earth and saw Fort Morgan fishing beach. Is there a section of beach reserved for surf fishing ? Or is that too good to be true?

It’s hard to explain, there are sections of the beach at the fort where I would not want my kids or anyone to swim because the currents are so strong, but that’s where the fishing tends to be great, so yes that would be a spot for just surf fishing. The area by what used to be no name road would be more of a desirable spot to swim.

Hey there Dennis. That place out there at the tip is probably where you’re seeing the fishing beach. I’ve fished it a lot and have never seen a single person in the water. It’s pretty desolate usually. Most fishermen set up pretty much right where you access the water from no name (Burgoyne) road. A few go out to the tip where the fort is but it’s a heck of a hike, especially with gear. There’s also Mobile Street access road further East from the fort. I’ve never fished that one but read reports that it can be productive too.

I’m headed down for the long weekend this week. I’ll likely fish the fort unless the grass is bad again. I’ll report back.

What Google Maps has listed as "Fort Morgan Fishing Beach" is the venue at Burgoyne Road (formerly known a "No Name Road")

It had been along time since I went down there, I didn’t realize they had named the road. Think the fishing there would be worth the trip all the way out from the state park? We keep our camper there, so it’s a good 20 minutes or so out that way.

Well,…it looks like rain all day Saturday. So, I’ll likely fish the beach at the condo. That way i can pack up and get inside quickly when it really dumps. And Sunday is gonna be pretty windy, 25mph+. Doesn’t bode well for a trip to the tip on this visit. But maybe Monday for a bit.
