Fishing spots
Besides the pier and the immediate beaches, where are so good places to fish. I typically have my 8 yr old with me, so can’t really go anywhere too crazy. My son doesn’t care what he catches as long as the fish bite. I prefer going after species that taste good. Whiting, trout, pompano, even Spanish if it’s fresh.
what do you all think.
Also,
my arthritis just reminded me, I am looking to pick up some pre tied pompano sets, and I found cheapo ones at Wally World, but someone told be to buy Salty’s rigs. I found him on face book, but his is worth the extra cost? It’s literally double the price. I mean if the quality is there and they work, I don’t mind it ya know.

One easy access place is the low head dam (weir) in the state park. Go down the winding road that starts across the street from the Lodge and stop at the first bridge you come to. Parking is on the right hand side, and free. It gets fished (and crabbed) a lot, but I have caught some huge bass there. It’s brackish water so spotted trout and reds are there also.
