Fishing on the Perdido side

Hey guys. We are preparing for our annual trip to the gulf. This year we decided to stay in Perdido. The condo we are in has access to the bay? that is across the street. The water is whatever is between the island and the main part of Perdido. Would this be a good place to fish at night? I have a two year old that I want to catch his first fish and his momma likes to fish some too. I am thinking with it being right across the road it would be pretty easy to get out there at night and try to catch something. I will be going by J&M when we get there to get everything we need and I am sure they can tell me what to use, I just don't know if this is a good place to try. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have friends that live on the inter coastal waterway just inside the bay, and they do real good at night for speckle trout, if you can find some access to light that will help a bunch....the light attracts bait fish eating the bugs l and intern attracts other predator bigger fish just the docks attracts fish....depending on the current(tidal flow) it can be rippen at times but some current is also the key
also flounder may be good too??

small gold hooks with a small piece of squid or shrimp should catch some pinfish croaker,spots,grunts for the little guy

I have stayed in Phoenix on the bay, and just got back from staying at The Caribe last week, and also stayed there last summer. I caught fish at both places in the past. Carolina rig live or dead shrimp will produce something almost every time. At the caribe, I have caught ramora, catfish, sheepshead, spadefish, mangrove snapper, and flounder. At Phoenix, we caught everything we did at the Caribe, but throw in a few stingrays.
