Me and my 8 year old boy are going on the Gulf Pier for the first time on Sunday.He has never caught a fish over 6 inches. What kind of bait do we need to use to catch any kind of fish over six inches. I have a big rod and 2 smaller rods. Any suggestions would be great. We are planning to get there about 900am...ish. We got a cooler full of water, soda and food so we can spend the day on the pier.. Email me at bill@hambo.net or post on here.

Well there are no guaranties, but if you go out armed with White Looney Jigs, A redhead/chrome Gothca and a few cigar minnows, you should be able to hookup on Spanish, Skippies, Blues or even a King. All of those are over 6” and fun on light tackle.

Yes, thank me and my boy and girl had a lot of fun. My boy caught a fish about a foot long, somebody said it was a baby Amberjack. We thre everything back. My girl had a two foot shark on her line and it broke her line. They both caught about five fishes a piece. Thanks
