A few "firsts" for me today:
Caught my first Fairhope pier Redfish (for this year) this morning between the storms. 1" slice of pink (shrimp) Fishbites, maybe 5lbs at 23". But the big news is... it was a tagged fish. (I've never caught a tagged fish before)
Reported the data, and now I may be the proud owner of a brand new CCA cap. Also, work is actually be done at the pier, and it may have the overhead lights and water repaired soon.

Follow up.
The fish was tagged almost directly across the bay on the Mobile side, and had only grown 2 inches before I took it home. I'm sad about that.
I didn't see the tag until I got home, otherwise I would I have just reported it and caught it again yesterday (when I didn't catch a dang thing)
Also, the lights are now operating at Fairhope pier, they're running water lines now, and there is a "boat-lift crew" working inside the marina. There are still damaged (sunken?) boats there now. I'm sure there's debris as well. The restaurant is closed and is for sale.
