"...an estimated 4,600 sea turtles killed in U.S. coastal waters every year after being caught in nets or hooked."
I'd like to see a breakdown on how many were netted and how many were hooked.
I'd also like to see a breakdown of how many were in Alabama, and not "U.S coastal waters."

PETA is well organized (and crazy of course) The impetus for a very long time has been to start on the kids with lots of both subtle and other more obvious programs. The anti-hunting has been pretty overt but the anti-fishing plan is sneakier. This is one of those battles that isn't going away and sadly there is a lot of negative behavior from hunters and fisherman that don't understand how important this fight is.
PETA's motto is " A pig is a rat is a boy is a dog" meaning that none of those lives are more important than the other. Think on that a minute and you'll see the craziness for what it is.The key to happiness is to avoid the things that make you unhappy.

They assume that if your grandkids get to name each of your bait shrimp, you will be reduced to fishing with lures. As someone who grew up with animals, I say one of the sure signs of a farm kid is that they have all eaten a pet. Just because you name and hand feed a calf doesn't mean it can't be delicious.

I took several pictures of a loggerhead off the octi on Sept 24th, 2019. It had a LARGE wound right where that one is covered (just back of the right flipper). The wound looked like a Tiger Shark had taken a chunk out of the turtle and it was obviously ailing at that time.
Does anyone know where I can email some pictures. Maybe if they knew it was badly wounded for some time it will take the heat off the pier fishing. It may not have been able to survive in the wild.
I don't know how to post them here.
EDIT: I followed other links to an earlier story. That looks like the same wound.
https://www.al.com/life/2021/10/sick...ue-effort.htmlPeople are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.
If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

Dear PETA,
Sharks are attacking turtles and killing fish. Do something about the sharks!
k, thanks.
I saw one yesterday but it was closed mouth. Would not eat anything thrown. I personally know of 3 that have been caught in the last two weeks. No kings yet.
