Did some searching of prior posts but didn’t find much very recent. Coming down at the end of next week. Any tips for catching blue crab? Want to give the kids a little fun. Looking forward to seeing you all again on the pier.

There aren't that many places with access to go "chicken necking" anymore, but people do it at the weir on the state park road - I would go early or very late as it gets crowded. You can use a ring net on the pier (one per fisherman, must be attended). That way you can fish while the kids watch the net.
Sometimes this time of the year they will congregate on the beach near Fort Morgan (mostly gravid females, but there will be males) - I don't know why or exactly when, but if you hit it right you can scoop a bunch just wading with a net.
If they ever finish the Fort Morgan Pier that would be a good place, maybe somebody else knows how soon it will be done.
Plus one on what frednic said. I have seen a lot more blue crab on the bay side of fort Morgan than surf side
