Best leader material for Sniper Lure?

Hi. I have lost a few Gotcha lures to Spanish using 30 pound test Fluoro/Mono leader so I stepped it up to 40 pound test without any issues with lure action and reduced my losses. I am now investing in a pricier Shimano 170 Sniper lure. Curious as to what type leader is most popular with that lure?

For Spanish macs, I am fine with a 3-4 inch long piece of 27# Singlestrand wire to protect from cutoffs...

For kings, a foot or slightly more of 38# Singlestrand works better to prevent most cutoffs...

Same here. I notice that there seems to be a time life on posts so it may be a case of age of post. Too bad it can't be a sticky.

I got this far and found some helpful info, but beyond that the embedded links were apparently eaten by a bear. Speaking of which, a Spanish-proof or king-proof leader is no guarantee of being shark proof.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to the pic and info, it was something I referred to when needed. But, I have no doubt that Mr. Thornton will come through with the info.

Bottom line is,…a little steel goes a long way.
