All around fishing combo for the pier/ beach?
What is a good all around combo for fishing the pier/ beach? I only get to come once or twice a year so I dont want to break the bank but I do want to have a decent setup for when I do come down.
Thanks

I have been happy with my Penn Pursuit combo. I have 4000 series it’s a little big for the small stuff but big enough if you need to horse a Spanish mackerel from a shark.

Check out the okuma avenger live liner in 4000/4500 size. I've been very happy with the quality.. had some for almost 10 years now.
Penn is the best imo... you can get a fierceiii combo in 3000 size and that should be sufficient, i was catching reds on my 2500 quantum throttle last fall and other than getting nearly spooled(when a big one hit) a few times it did great..Nurse -- Father -- Falconer

i would just pickup a 4000 battle 3 combo they just came out..will handle anything unless you are wanting to wrangle kings/tarpons/ etc. or if you want something beefier just go up to a 6000 will take the fun out of the smaller catches though.
I've got a new, never used, large 36" pier fishing net for sale with 30' heavy duty rope. Looking to get just $38 and no extra tax! Msg me if you want pics.
