AHR Annual Inshore Slam Tornament Series...
Hello to all of the inshore fishermen fanatics on this site,
If anyone is interested we are about to crank up the series starting this Saturday. Anyone who thinks they have what it takes to be crowned the inshore champs of Alabama, come on down and give it a try.
BELOW ARE THE RULES AND TOURNEY INFO
RULES
2013 Alabama Inshore Championship Fishing Tournament Trail
Tournament dates:
1. April 13
2. June 22
3. August 17
4. September 21 (Final Trail Tournament for points)
October 12 AHR Causeway Classic (open to all fishermen) Charity Fundraiser and Awards Ceremony! Guaranteed first place payout – minimum $750.00.
All weigh-ins will take place beginning at 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. After 4pm, you cannot weigh in.
Tournament Format: The tournament will have two categories.
Inshore Slam: Largest creel weight composed of one slot redfish (pinch tail, jaw closed, one flip – over 26” on Golden Rule is disqualified, on the line is ok), one speckled trout, and one flounder (all three are not mandatory). If lacking any species, you can still weigh in the other species caught and it will count toward your total creel weight and points for the trail.
Point System:
The total points from the BEST 3 out of 4 tournaments will be added to determine ALABAMA INSHORE CHAMPIONS. We will drop your poorest score if you fish all 4 regular events.
1 point per lb. (measured to 100th of ounce)
3 pts added for anyone who brings in all three species. (Slam-Speckled Trout/Slot Redfish/Flounder)
For example, one team weighs in a small flounder, small redfish, and small speckled trout and the total weight is 8 pounds. Since they caught all 3 species (slam) they get 3 points added to their score. Another team weighs in one speckled trout and one redfish, and the total weight is 10 lbs. Since the team who caught all 3 species gets an extra 3 points, their total points would be 11 and they place ahead of the team that caught only two species (which had 10 points).
THE ALABAMA HUNGER RELIEF CAUESWAY CLASSIC IN OCT. IS OPEN TO ANYONE. FISHERMEN WHO HAVE FISHED REGULAR TOURNAMENTS WITH US WILL BE GIVEN DISCOUNTED ENTRY FEES DEPENDING ON HOW MANY (OF THE 4 REG. TOURNAMENTS) THEY HAVE FISHED.
Mystery Lunker Jackpot: Largest one species – (TO BE DETERMINED AT CAPTAIN’S MEETING), payout for first place only. Only 1 fish per boat will be allowed to weigh in. All fish weighed in will be examined and marked. No additional points for the trail will be given to Jackpot winners.
Spot Redfish Jackpot: This jackpot will last for the entire series. The angler that brings in the redfish which has the most spots wins. Slot Reds Only. Cost for ticket is only $15 per angler for the year. In the event of a tie, the fish weighing the most will take the lead. The fish entered in the spot jackpot does not have to be the same fish the team weighs into the regular tournament. Winner will get a Shimano Curado combo (~$300-350 retail value). Sponsored by Bay N Bayou Outfitters!
Baits/Presentation: Rod and reel only, live or artificial baits.
Entrance Fee: Pre- Pay for all 4 Regular Tournaments before April 20th- $150 total per person.
Individual tournament tickets are $45 per person for Inshore Slam category, $45 per boat for mystery lunker jackpot. In order to purchase jackpot ticket, an Inshore Slam ticket must also be purchased.
Payout: FIRST PLACE GUARANTEED MINIMUM $500. All events pay 60% cash payout -10% going to Alabama Inshore Champions at the end of the 4-tournament trail - Other prizes will also be included with some places. The remaining 50% of entry fees will be paid out to winners.
The number of places paid for each event will depend on number of boats…35 Teams or Less—pays 3 places/ 36-45 Teams-pays 4 places/ 46 Teams or over pays 5 places.
Jackpot: 80% payout (payout for first place only)
Species of the jackpot fish will be determined at the captain’s meeting by random drawing after all tickets are sold.
Launch: Any open Alabama launch Boundaries: Alabama state waters
Tournaments open to all Alabama Fishing License Holders
Captain’s Meetings- will be held at 6pm the Friday before each tournament at Tacky Jacks on the Causeway. At least one representative from each team must register their team at the captain’s meetings. All fishermen are encouraged to attend. Door prizes and guest speakers will be provided.
Tournament fishing time begins at 5 am – You must weigh in by 4pm.
*The tie breaker goes to the first person who weighed in that day. Each team has a team name or number. A mandatory captain’s meeting will be held before each tournament so that each team planning to fish the tournament must check in their team and their team members. If the meeting is missed, you may still fish and qualify to win but the points for that tournament is forfeited. One team member may be substituted only during the series as long as one original team member is present to fish and the substitute has his own ticket. Points will go to teams, not individuals. Also, the team must be on our registered list in order to weigh in and be awarded points. Teams may register at any point before the last regular tournament and fish the remainder of events. A permanent partner change may only be made prior to the start of the second tournament with all points retained.
Note: Random winners will be given a polygraph the in order to receive awards and prizes. Results of their polygraph is final.

Appreciate the info Delta, I'll be working the majority of those dates. Not that I'd stand a chance against some of those guys but I enjoy following the results. Good luck to y'all!

I really have been wanting to get more South Baldwin folks involved but I keep getting voted down every time I try to move the weigh-in location east :spank:

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
